Dana discovered Pilates in 2000 and was instantly hooked! After completing the prestigious Teacher Training program at The Pilates Center in Boulder, where she studied with a number of 2nd generation Pilates teachers, Dana taught for six years at a prominent Denver studio before opening The Pilates Movement in 2007.
Dana has trained and mentored other Pilates instructors, worked with individuals with specific rehabilitation needs, and trained competitive athletes. She is committed to her own development as an instructor. She has attended Pilates workshops nationwide with Kathleen Stanford Grant, Rael Isacowitz, Michelle Larson, Mary Bowen, Irene Dowd, and other esteemed professionals. Brian, a Polestar certified instructor, discovered the power of Pilates while supplementing his strength training routine. Finding that he could gain strength and flexibility without the impact of weights, and seeing the benefit his personal training client found using Pilates, he became an advocate. Brian loves skiing, hiking, climbing 14ers, aerial acrobatics and powering through the city on his bike. Brian has taught Pilates to all ages, abilities, and special needs, teaching his clients-be they athletes or rehab based- how to be more efficient movers.
Jane, a lifelong fitness enthusiast, became hooked on Pilates after her 1st class and has been a devoted student for the past 20 years. She began working as the office manager for a DC Pilates studio in 2003 where she observed and studied with the Studio’s outstanding trainers before receiving her mat certification in 2018. She followed that up with a comprehensive certification and has been sharing her love of Pilates ever since. Jane is excited to teach at Denver Pilates Movement and to help clients improve their core strength and mobility and achieve their health and fitness goals.
Danielle, a collegiate soccer player, first became a personal trainer in her quest to heal from recurring soccer injuries. But when she felt how Pilates helped her stay healthy and gain strength at the same time, she was a convert! She loves helping & challenging individuals to work towards being the best version of themselves. She truly believes “Change happens through movement and movement heals” - Joseph Pilates.
Jennifer is a nationally certified Pilates Instructor. She has been practicing Pilates exercises for 24 years and has been teaching Pilates professionally for 10 years. She received her formal education and certification at The Pilates Center in Boulder Colorado, completing the 950-hour Advanced Teacher Training Program. She continues her education through numerous workshops and certifications which include completing The Heritage Training and learning the work of Kathy Grant.
Jennifer believes that Pilates exercises are for everyone and for every body and looks forward to meeting and working with you!
Dr. Mara O’Keeffe began her movement journey as a child taking ballet lessons. For the next 20 years, she committed to ballet training, eventually landing a job in Denver with Dawson Wallace Dance Project. After her retirement from ballet, she trained at The Pilates Center receiving her teaching certification in 2014. Mara taught Pilates at Denver Pilates Movement from 2014-2019 when she left to attend PT school.
Dr O’Keeffe graduated from Regis University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2022. She is a board certified specialist in orthopedics, with certificates in both vestibular and post-concussion rehabilitation. In addition to treating orthopedic conditions, Mara holds certifications in Post-Concussion Syndrome treatment & Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy, which is the treatment of conditions of the inner ear that can cause dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, vertigo, and balance unsteadiness. She is excited to be rejoining the team at Denver Pilates Movement!
